> AltelaRain® System

We can grow with you and treat high volumes: A significant advantage of the AltelaRain® technology is that it is highly ‘modular’, meaning that it can both be more easily sized to any given application than other technologies and be easily added onto at a later date, by simply adding more AltelaRain® ‘towers’ to an existing plant. The AltelaRain® technology has the ability to easily scale-up to capacities larger than 100,000 gallons per day (GPD).
The AltelaRain® system is highly scalable in size and can be produced in a variety of configurations to fit individual on-site needs. The standard AltelaRain® system ARS-4000 is delivered in a single portable 45 X 8 foot shipping container, and treats 4,000 GPD (~100 barrels per day, BPD) of produced water, decreasing disposal volumes and costs by 90% and extending the life of a well. For higher volume applications, larger systems can be delivered for increased capacity at a given location. Each AltelaRain® system holds all the equipment necessary to treat contaminated water. The system also contain a satellite based communications system for remote monitoring and control of system performance. Individual AltelaRain® towers are approximately the size of a residential water heater. Since the treated water stream is distilled water, the quality of water from the AltelaRain® process is extremely high. Water quality test results received from independent water quality labs demonstrate the very high quality of treated water obtained from this simple technology for the treatment of highly challenged produced water. Greater than 99.9% of produced water salts are removed from the incoming water.View the AltelaRain® Schematic PDF. The incoming highly-brackish water (such as produced water) is treated by the system, which produces two output streams of water: (a) clean distillate water in amounts equal to 90% or more of the amount of untreated influent and (b) concentrate tail water in amounts equal to 10% or less of the amount of influent. The concentrate stream is stored on-site and disposed of in the same manner that produced water is currently disposed of by oil and gas operators: through water-hauling, down-hole injection, or evaporation ponds.
The AltelaRain® system therefore reduces disposal volumes and costs, and can extend the life of multi-million dollar wells.
