Water desalination is one of the world’s great remaining problems in need of a low-cost solution. The AltelaRain® system is the ideal solution for the desalination/decontamination of highly challenged water, especially in on-site applications.
Once you understand what we do, you’ll see how far we can go. View PDF of "Our Technology" handout.
Globally, there are numerous, sizeable water desalination/decontamination segments with characteristics ideally suited to the AltelaRain® system. These markets include the purification and remediation of:

• Produced Water in the oil, natural gas and mineral extraction industries,
• Highly-salinated concentrate “ tail water” from large-scale reverse osmosis desalination systems,
• Industrial waste water treatment, particularly in the semi-conductor, manufacturing and food and beverage industries,
• Cooling tower “ blowdown” water from electrical power generating stations, and
• Contaminated ground water.
We can also partner with alternative energy such as Solar Thermal (ST). Partnering with a Solar Thermal company, an Electricity-Generating Plant with a co-located Brackish Water Desalination Plant may be economic – whereas presently neither one would be economically viable on its own. Why? Because ST alone wastes two-thirds of the passive solar energy it collects – whereas we can use that to drive our desalination process virtually for free – and together make arid locations like New Mexico deserts and Masdar City in the Middle East viable for both alternative energy electricity and water desalination.
What makes AltelaRain® such a compelling breakthrough is its ability to desalinate and decontaminate highly challenged water sources without the energy-intensive equipment, high temperatures or pressure of other technologies. And it’s all done in a simple mobile and modular systems located on-site. Today, we’re helping the oil and gas industry increase efficiency and productivity throughout the Marcellus in Pennsylvania, the Piceance in the Rockies of Colorado, and from the San Juan Basin of New Mexico up to the Alberta Basin of Canada. Tomorrow, the sky’s the limit.
